The first two rows are the publisher's numbers. The rows below are our own estimates from the scoring model.
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition was released on August 7, 2020. Steam files it under Action, Adventure and RPG. It needs 100 GB of free storage, which is a large install, so check your drive before you buy.
The publisher's minimum for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition is Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB) with Intel Core i5-2500K@3.3GHz or AMD FX 6300@3.5GHz, and the recommended hardware is Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB). We treat the recommended hardware as the setup that holds about 60 fps at 1080p on High.
In our estimates a Radeon RX 580 is about the weakest card that holds 60 fps on High at 1080p, a GeForce GTX 1660 Super does the same at 1440p, and a Radeon RX 6600 XT at 4K. Cards below that can still play the game, at Medium or Low.
Open world and story games are limited by the graphics card in busy areas and by video memory in new locations. If you see stutter when you enter a new area, lower the texture setting a step. Turn on upscaling if the game offers it.

The highest quality preset that still holds 60 fps. Estimates with a processor that does not limit the card.
Minimum 8 GB, recommended 16 GB. 16 GB is the comfortable amount for current games.
A processor like the Ryzen 3 2200G meets the recommended CPU level. For many fps in fast games, a quick CPU matters as much as the graphics card. Check your pairing.
Minimum: Intel Core i5-2500K@3.3GHz or AMD FX 6300@3.5GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB), 8 GB of memory, 100 GB of free storage.
Recommended: Intel Core i7-4770K@3.5GHz or Ryzen 5 1500X@3.5GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB), 16 GB of memory.
In our estimate a Radeon RX 580 is about the weakest card that holds 60 fps on High at 1080p, and a GeForce GTX 1660 Super for 1440p.
The minimum is 8 GB and the recommendation is 16 GB. With less than the minimum the game may not start or will stutter badly.
About 100 GB of free space, plus room for updates.
Our estimate for the GeForce RTX 3060 is about 145 fps on High at 1080p. Verdict: Yes, runs great.
