What this is
Will This Game Run answers one question: will this game run on my computer? Pick the game and your hardware and you get a verdict, estimated frame rates and a suggestion for what to change. Around it sit the tools that go with that question: a bottleneck calculator, GPU and CPU comparisons, tier lists, a PSU calculator and an upgrade advisor.
What it is not
It is not a benchmark lab. Our frame rates come from a scoring model, not from running each game on each part. Treat them as a good guide to "fine, tight or no", not as exact numbers.
Where the data comes from
Game requirements come from the Steam store (powered by Steam) and from publisher pages. Hardware specs come from manufacturer spec sheets. The performance scores are our own estimates, described on the methodology page. New games are added automatically every week; the date on each page shows when it last changed.
Who it is for
Anyone about to buy a game, or a part, and wanting to know what to expect. That includes people with an old desktop deciding whether a new release is worth trying, people choosing a graphics card for a specific game, and people building a PC who want the processor and the card to match. We keep the pages short and the numbers visible, and we try to say when we are unsure.
