Editorial standards

How we collect data, how we handle mistakes and how we keep the site independent.

Updated October 3, 2026

Independence

Rankings, tiers and recommendations come from our scoring model and nothing else. No manufacturer, publisher or retailer pays for placement. If we add affiliate links in the future they will be labelled and will not change a ranking.

Accuracy and corrections

Hardware scores are estimates and are labelled as such. Game requirements are copied from the Steam store or the publisher, then converted to our scale by software. If you find a wrong requirement or a wrong score, write to hello@willthisgamerun.com with the page and what you expected; confirmed errors are fixed and the page’s update date changes.

Updates

New games are fetched from the Steam store once a week. Hardware tables are reviewed when new parts launch. Each page shows the date its content last changed.

Sources

Steam store pages (powered by Steam, a Valve service), manufacturer spec sheets and our own scoring model. We do not copy text or tables from other review sites.

What we will not do

We will not change a verdict, a score or a ranking because someone paid or asked. We will not present an estimate as a measurement. And when a page rests on thin data, for example a game whose store page names no hardware, we will say so or keep the page out of search results instead of filling it with guesses.
