Estimated average fps by resolution and preset.
Our estimate puts the Radeon RX 9070 XT at about 300+ fps on High at 1080p in Destiny 2, which means it runs comfortably. On Low the same card manages about 300+ fps, and on Ultra about 293.
The graphics card is the limit here, so lowering the resolution or the quality preset is what raises your frame rate.
For a steady 60 fps, our estimate says: 1080p: Ultra (about 293 fps); 1440p: Ultra (about 211 fps); 4K: Ultra (about 117 fps).
Destiny 2 lists 6 GB of RAM (recommending 8 GB) and a processor of the Processor Intel Core i5 2400 3.4 GHz class. Our estimate assumes a processor that does not limit the Radeon RX 9070 XT, so enter yours in the checker above if it is older than that.
For reference, the next card up in our list, the GeForce RTX 4090, is estimated at 300+ fps on High at 1080p, so you have room to raise settings or resolution on the Radeon RX 9070 XT.
Our estimate is about 300+ fps on High at 1080p, and about 300+ fps on Low. Verdict: Yes, runs great.
At 1080p, Ultra holds about 293 fps. At 1440p, Ultra holds 60 fps. Even 4K is possible on Ultra.
Destiny 2 lists 6 GB as its minimum and recommends 8 GB. The graphics card does not change that: with less memory than the minimum the game can stutter or fail to start whatever card you have.
